Dr Torshizi has a special clinical interest in the management of depression, anxiety, ADHD and their comorbidities in adulthood, supervising TMS and other neuromodulation techniques as treatment options.



Dr Ahmad Torshizi is a Consultant Psychiatrist and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.  After completing his psychiatry training in Iran in 2008, Dr Torshizi moved to Australia in 2011 to complete further training as a Specialist International Medical Graduate Registrar.  As a consultant psychiatrist Dr Torshizi has worked in a number of public and private, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings across Australia.

In his most recent public role Dr Torshizi was the clinical lead and Head of the Psychiatry Department at Royal Perth Bentley Group where, alongside clinical duties, he enjoyed a role as a leader advocating for patients and the community, providing innovative and quality improvement projects.

Dr Torshizi currently works part time in private practice and as a locum psychiatrist. He has affiliations with University of Western Australia as a Senior Lecturer and is an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Medicine, The University of Notre Dame Australia.

Dr Torshizi sits on a number of RANZCP committees including the Membership Engagement Committee and the Examination Committee and the Binational Adult Psychiatry Faculty Committee in Western Australia.

His special clinical interests include management of depression, anxiety and ADHD manifestations and its comorbidities in adulthood.  He is a practitioner who has recently developed an interest in clinical and research aspects of neuromodulation.

It is Dr Ahmad Torshizi’s ethos in clinical psychiatry to look at the patient as a person in context to their individual circumstance against the symptoms that have arisen. In doing so,  Dr Torshizi works holistically, empathically, collaboratively but also “outside the box”.

It is Dr Torshizi’s goal to help patients and their families feel fully informed of their diagnostic assessment and safe and effective treatment plan options which fit their individual needs.  Dr Torshizi draws on established and emerging evidence in his practice while taking into account the cultural and personal values of the patient and their support network.
