Application of TMS in therapy
Science shows that the cause of depression is linked to the frontal cortex (the frontal lobe or dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC)), where there is a disruption in communication between the DLPFC and the deeper anterior cingulate (AC). Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) focuses specifically on this small area (DLPFC). The communication between these two structures can be improved with repeated stimulation of this area, thereby decreasing depressive symptoms for up to 6-12 months. A noticeable effect is usually achieved within 10 to 12 sessions of rTMS. Follow the link to find out more about how rTMS is applied in practice.
neuroCare Group has been offering rTMS in the treatment of psychiatric disorders (specifically treatment resistant depression and OCD) since 2006 and has gained a lot of experience in the clinical application of rTMS. We can help you successfully incorporate rTMS into your clinical practice, offering:
From professional training, technical support and sales, neuroCare can help you integrate rTMS and other neuromodulation techniques into your clinical practice or research setting.
The human brain has an amazing ability to reorganize, which is a prerequisite for adapting to constantly changing environmental conditions. This ability to be plastic is of paramount importance for recovery processes after brain damage, such as a stroke. To study modulatory processes, we offer different packages for your research.
neuroCademy hosts 2-day workshops on rTMS for the treatment of Depression and OCD in both clinical and research settings. The course also covers the use of EEG and QEEG to predict and optimize treatment outcomes. Participants receive hands-on practice with TMS devices.
Our workshop "Advanced Neurostimulation Techniques" provides researchers, academics and clinicians a deeper insight in our available solutions for brain stimulation and its combination with neuroimaging methods. Supervised by our specialists this workshop offers hands on training on Multi-Channel tES, TMS-navigation and the combination of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques with EEG technology.
