The connection between ADHD and Insomnia
Whilst people with sleeping problems may not have ADHD and people with ADHD may not have sleeping problems, there are many similarities in brain function that mean Neurofeedback can effectively treat both conditions.
Much the same as people who experience insomnia, a delay in brain wave function (frontal theta or slow alpha peak frequency) is also noticed in people with ADHD or ADD. Typically, when the brain focuses on something these brain waves show increased activity, however, if you are a person with ADHD and Insomnia, this brain activity is reduced and you will find it harder to concentrate.
