Helping patients with ADHD for >10 years

Since opening our first clinic in Nijmegen (NL) in 2006, neurocare (formerly Brainclinics) has successfully treated patients with ADHD and ADD. Our non-invasive, pain free technology and protocols which we use to treat ADHD and ADD have been rigorously tested and we have successfully helped many patients to reduce or entirely eliminate their dependency on medication.

Treating ADHD and Insomnia with Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is a method proven effective in the treatment of ADHD, ADD and insomnia. Using a neuromodulation device this treatment method is a way to train behavioral patterns in the brain and decrease the symptoms of ADHD and ADD or sleep problems. Its efficacy is the result of more than 3o years of practice and research and the treatment success of Neurofeedback is continually improving with ongoing research.

In adults and children with ADHD, ADD and associated sleep problems, our clinicians may advise a combination of Neurofeedback and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Adults with primary chronic insomnia may initially be advised to undergo CBT. Follow the link below for more information on the treatment success of Neurofeedback in ADHD and Insomnia.

The connection between ADHD and Insomnia

Whilst people with sleeping problems may not have ADHD and people with ADHD may not have sleeping problems, there are many similarities in brain function that mean Neurofeedback can effectively treat both conditions.

Much the same as people who experience insomnia, a delay in brain wave function (frontal theta or slow alpha peak frequency) is also noticed in people with ADHD or ADD. Typically, when the brain focuses on something these brain waves show increased activity, however, if you are a person with ADHD and Insomnia, this brain activity is reduced and you will find it harder to concentrate.
