Psychiatrist
Dr Tim Rolfe is a senior psychiatrist with 40 years of experience in mental health. He has held various senior leadership positions as a clinical director of several adult mental health services, dual diagnosis (mental health and substance use) services and the Victorian Multiple and Complex Needs (MACNI) assessment service. He is also a Foundation Fellow of the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine. For the last 10 years he has specialised in neuromodulation treatments including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), transcranial electrical stimulation (tDCS & tACS) and neurofeedback. He is the Director of Therapeutic Brain Stimulation at Austin Health where he provides a variety of neuromodulation interventions and conducts some research. He is a long-standing member of the Victorian Chief Psychiatrists Neurostimulation committee and is a member of the expert panel. Dr Rolfe is one of a handful of Psychiatrists in Australia certified to analyse and interpret the quantitative EEG (QEEG) and is trained in neurofeedback.
Dr Rolfe works at neurocare conducting assessments for neuromodulation interventions. His particular interest is in personalising TMS protocols using emerging techniques such as neuro-cardiac guided TMS assessment, QEEG analysis and neuronavigation. He oversees the TMS treatment courses.
Dr Rolfe prefers to work in partnership with patients treating psychiatrists and general practitioners. He does not see patients for ongoing care and does not prescribe medication or medicinal cannabis. He does not conduct ADHD assessments.
