Special Training Event in Nijmegen

Meet top experts on clinical tDCS in unique 2-day workshop

With Prof. Dr. Frank Padberg & Dr. Andre Brunoni
October 27 - 28, 2017

neuroCademy is offering a unique training event in Europe's cluster-city for neuroscience in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. This workshop is particularly suited to psychologists, psychiatrists and researchers interested in applying the technique of transcranial Direct Current Stimulation, looking for a unique opportunity to learn and discuss its clinical application with highly regarded experts in the field. Professor Dr. Frank Padberg (Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich) will offer expert insight into how tDCS can be applied in a range of psychiatrist disorders, followed by the state-of-the-art application of tDCS in Depression with Dr. Andre Brunoni (University of São Paulo, Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich). Working closely with our guest presenters, participants wil gain an understanding of basic applications of tDCS to build up to advanced methods.

Prof. Dr. Frank Padberg

Prof. Padberg is the director of the Section of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy and Munich Center for Brain Stimulation at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. His main research focus is on the development of novel non-pharmacological interventions for difficult-to-treat affective disorders, i.e. therapy-resistant or chronic depression or depression with significant psychiatric co-morbidity. To achieve this goal, he has established several research tracks: 1) characterization of clinical, psychological and neurobiological features of these patients, 2) investigation of novel psychotherapeutic approaches, 3) development of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) methods (e.g. repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation - rTMS, transcranial direct current stimulation - tDCS) to provide safe and effective therapeutic interventions. The third research track is most advanced and has recently been funded by the Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Prof. Padberg has contributed with more than 160 scientific publications.

Dr. Andre Brunoni

Dr. Andre Brunoni is the director of the Service of interdisciplinary Neuromodulation at the University of São Paulo and a Humbodlt visiting professor at LMU Munich. He is an expert in designing clinical trials using non-invasive brain stimulation techniques for the treatment of mental disorders. His research involves the use of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and “deep” transcranial magnetic stimulation in the treatment of mental disorders, such as mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder and schizophrenia. He is a top leader in the field with more than 100 published articles in peer reviewed journals.
